The goal for my story is to get different perspectives about life on campus at Thompson Rivers University. This audio will go through the views of my roommates and their take on what it is like to live in East Village. As we are all first-year students in various programs, our opinions will be different and hopefully, this will allow readers to connect with a different perspective.

Emma Leach (Narrator): Hello everyone and welcome back to The Reality of Living on Campus. Today we are going to switch this up and do an audio story which will include some interviews of my fellow roommates at East Village. I will be interviewing all 3 of my roommates who will provide multiple opinions about life at Thompson Rivers University. Without further ado, let’s meet my roommates!
What is your name and what program are you in?
Emma Chretien (Interviewee #1): My name is Emma. My program is Bachelor of Arts, major in Economic and Political Studies.
Christa Henrich (Interviewee #2): Christa Henrich, I’m in Business Administration.
Ella Lindsay (Interviewee #3): My name is Ella and I am in the Arts Program.
Emma L: Why did you choose to go to TRU?
Emma C: I knew I wanted to move away from home.
Christa H: I chose to go to TRU because originally I was going to play soccer here.
Ella L: I chose to go to TRU because I wanted to move away for university and the campus looked really nice and I thought it would be fun to live with my friends.
Emma L: Before moving into East Village, what were your expectations of the residency?
Emma C: I did quite a bit of research before I came but I would say my expectations were to meet a lot of people.
Christa H: I didn’t have like high expectations but I knew that like it was going to be like a new type of freedom and you got to live alone so it would be a lot more independence.
Ella L: I didn’t really expect much but it’s better than I thought it would be.
Emma L: What is your favouritve thing about East Village?
Emma C: Getting to live with my friends and have the independence.
Christa H: Getting to live with the girls I went to highschool and elementary school with.
Ella L: I like that its like on and off campus living like I feel like we are closer to the stores and everything.
Emma L: If you could change anything about your living situation, what would it be and why?
Emma C: Umm, maybe more like, more space.
Christa H: I wish that we could have people outside East Village come in.
Ella L: I don’t think I would change anything about living on residence, I really enjoy it.
Emma L: Explain your overall expereince living at East Village.
Emma C: I think it was a good decision to live on campus, especially first year and I think this is the best, in my opinion, probably the best residence to do that in.
Christa H: Uh its been pretty good because I have made lots of new friends and it’s very close to stores and campus.
Ella L: I think it’s really fun to live with friends and it’s nice being close to the campus.
Emma L: If you have any advice for future students, what would that be?
Emma C: I would say living on residence first year is a good idea, you meet people and it’s kinda like a good social thing.
Christa H: I would definetly recommend staying on residency first year just to like meet new people.
Ella L: I would definetly suggest if it is your first year to live in one of the residences.
Emma L: I hope you enjoyed listening to my roommates opinions about East Village and Thompson Rivers. Come back next week to find more out about the Reality of Living on Campus!
