Hello everyone and welcome to the Reality of Living on Campus! For those wondering, my name is Emma Leach and I’m here to take you through my journey of living in a dorm.
Currently, I am a first-year student at Thompson Rivers University located in Kamloops, British Columbia studying Tourism Management. A little more about me is that I absolutely love shopping and I have a great passion for travel.
I chose to blog about dorm life because I wanted to share my unique experience with everyone. My living conditions are completely different from most students who choose to live on campus, due to the fact that I dorm with 3 girls I have known for most of my life. With that, there are their own pros and cons with living with people you know, however, I wouldn’t want it to change and I can’t wait to tell you all about it.
Movies portray campus life in all its glory and make it look like constant fun all semester long. However, that is not always the case. There are many fun opportunities with living on campus, but I do not think many people know what it is like behind closed doors. The Reality of Living on Campus gives me the opportunity to help future students who are debating on whether to live on or off-campus, in hopes that my blog would show the reality of it all. My blog will be different from other websites since I will be focusing more on the realistic lifestyle of campus living and that I dorm with some of my lifelong friends.
I can’t dive in too deep yet but I can’t wait to get this started and share my experience. I will leave you with one tip and that is, do NOT bring your entire wardrobe to university. Remember how I mentioned I’m a little bit of a shopaholic; well, dorm closets are very small…
